The company, however, was founded in June of 2005 for the purpose of further developing and marketing a revolutionary vertical “forward grip bipod”TM for the M-4 / AR15 / M-16 rifles for military, law enforcement, and recreational sporting markets. The Company’s multi-patented Grip Pod ® “AUTOMATICALLY DEPLOYS A STRONG STABLE BIPOD AT THE PUSH OF A BUTTON”. Since its creation, the United States military forces have adopted the Grip Pod ® as standard issue for both combat and support personnel.
The Grip Pod was developed in 2003 to give shooters better control and stability while avoiding the need for two separate accessories. The result was a vertical foregrip weapon stabilization system that could deploy a strong, stable bipod at the push of a button.
Grip Pod Systems International LLC was founded in June 2005 to further develop the Grip Pod concept for military, law enforcement, and recreational sporting markets.
In 2005 the U.S. Army at Picatinny Arsenal evaluated known bipod systems in an open competition for M16-series rifles across close, medium, and long-range applications. After nine months of testing, the Grip Pod emerged as a strong, yet lightweight performer, surviving durability trials that damaged or destroyed other bipods.
From that foundation, Grip Pod grew into a widely fielded weapon accessory, with more than 1 million units supplied to militaries both domestically and internationally. The system has been adopted across U.S. military branches and by allied militaries, special operations organizations, and federal and state law-enforcement agencies.

The Grip Pod has standard issue for combat and support personnel and has been fielded by the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, National Guard, U.S. Air Force, British Army and other allied forces, as well as the FBI, DEA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, special operations groups, and numerous law-enforcement agencies.
